About E3

E3 (Experience, Education, Employment) is a summer youth program, with a focus on building our future workforce through work-based learning during high school. The program is a partnership between Del Norte County Office of Education, Smart Workforce Center and local employers.

E3 participants attend a week-long work readiness bootcamp, where they learn about work ethic, teamwork, conflict management, communication, customer service, budgeting, cash handling, interview tips and how to build a resume. At the end of the week, a speed interview event is held, where students have a chance to interview with the participating worksites (local businesses/organizations). Students are then placed at a worksite after input from both the employers and youth. During their paid work experience, students also have a chance to earn up to 10 elective high school credits.

Our program is constantly looking for more worksites, as each year our number of students increase. If you are interested in learning more about the program, follow us on Facebook – E3 Summer Youth Program or call the Smart Workforce Center, 707-464-8347.
