Materials/Resources:
Grade Level: 9-12
Commitment: One-time donation
What is it: By indicating you would like to donate materials/resources you are stating that you have materials/resources that you think a classroom or individual student could use to expand their work based learning. By selecting this option it is not a guarantee that your materials will be taken. You will be connected to the appropriate teacher or DNCOE/DNUSD staff to discuss the need of the resource and work out how to deliver the materials to be used.
Job Shadowing
Grade Level: 10-12
Commitment: Generally one time visit
What is it
Invite students interested in your business or industry for a day or period of time to allow the student to observe, learn and gain perspective into what a typical work day looks like.
Preparation needed: Schedule a job shadow visit on a day that will offer meaningful insight. Make sure there are no confidentiality/policy issues within your organization that would be preventative or interfere with the students’ visit. Enjoy interacting with youth.
Guest Speaking
Grade Level: 9-12
Commitment: Generally one time visit
What is it: You will be connected with the classroom teacher you will work with you to set a day and time that you would like to present to their class
Internship
Grade Level: 10-12
Commitment: Ongoing; ideal internships are 25+ hours
What is it: Host a student at your job site who is interested in learning about career opportunities, developing skills, and exploring your field or industry as a possible career pathway. Students have a set schedule and report at predetermined times. Internships can be paid or unpaid.
Employment
Grade Level: 11-12
Commitment: Ongoing
What is it: you are indicating that you have a position you are seeking to fill as an employer. Del Norte Works will notify students/alumni of the CTE pathway which fits the industry sector of your business. Employment will not be affiliated with or monitored by the Del Norte Works program.
